Born and raised in our very own Rose Park in Salt Lake City, James has an everlasting love and passion for this valley that continues to grow. Raised by a single mother with 5 boys, James is no stranger to hard work. He took that valiant effort into sports and academics and was rewarded with a full ride academic scholarship to the University of Utah Honors College, which put a pause on his athletic career.
During his time at the U, James dedicated many hours at the Bennion Center volunteering at “Teens Night Out” helping kids in need, using his talents in an environmental sustainability group, and volunteering in a community outreach program for the homeless called “The Roadhome.” James also joined a fraternity, Beta Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Chi. He was selected as a Presidential Ambassador for the University of Utah and worked alongside President David Pershing and Sandi Pershing to bring change and development to campus. James work with different groups brought him a unique perspective of principles and taught him the value of individual relationships.
